    Covering Tunnel Cover In Leather

I have seen many pics of tunnel covers in various materials including leather. Has anyone out there done the leather install themselves and if so can you provide any details.

You saw mine, which fits your description! I bought a "whole hide" and used that for both the dash and the trans tunnel cover. Based on input from Ducky2009, I first glued 1/8" closed cell padding onto the aluminum. Then I glued the leather on top of that. The only tricky part - at least for me - was dealing with the corners. I cut the padding off even with the edges and wrapped the leather over the edges.

btw - I have A LOT of padding just sitting here. You are welcome to swing by and get some. I have plenty to spare! You can take another look at the finished result, too, if you like.
