Any MA vin inspection changes or wait time.

Just wondering if the state police inspection process has changed with COVID. Long time to get a appointment after calling ....or?

    TIA

Went through the VIN assignment process last summer. Took a little more than a week to get a call back after leaving a message with the state police salvage unit. After that was able to schedule the VIN inspection appointment about a month out (for Westfield). The person doing the scheduling mentioned something about the trooper in Westfield having vacation scheduled though, so the wait might not normally be that long.

The VIN assignment itself wound up being pretty painless, though my car was bought (not built) and had previously been registered out-of-state. Actually it was already registered/titled in MA at the time since the RMV let me do that with the out-of-state VIN--only found out I needed to get a MA-assigned VIN when I attempted to go through the emissions waiver process.
