    Yipeeeeee!

I literally spent $48,000.00, including inspections, tax, title, & license to build Redbone.

Glad to see the FFR on the list but I agree some of the other choices are questionable. Since when is a Buick Grand National a sports car?

But opinions are like you know what everyone has one.

Grand National was my first car crush when I was a kid. Wanted one so bad.

Wasn't the Grand National GNX quicker then the Corvette a couple of years? I know those were some pretty lame years for the Vette but the GN was no slouch and I think they sell for good money today.

Don't get me wrong the Buick GN is no slouch but a sports car? I've seen plenty of them cleaning up at the dragstrip but never taking a corner at 80mph.

From what I remember about the Manx, I have to doubt that admission as well. I vaguely remember being able to beat them stoplight to stoplight on a 10 speed, but that's been a while.

a GNX is a very cool car, but as stated, it still handles like a G body. Its kinda amazing that an S2000, or corvette of any flavor didnt make the list.

IMO air-cooled 911's should and shouldn't be on the list. They should because they should not be over 30k for a car running an air-cooled airplane engine in the rear but they shouldn't because it is getting harder and harder to find a good one under 50k now a days

Related to the GNX would have been the Blazer(?). I will never forget the C&D cover w/ something like this, "O to 60 in 4.8 seconds---in the rain." Not a sports car for sure but a cool car for it's time any way. A great article. Thanks for posting.

CraigS. I think you are referring to the Typhoon. I got a ride in one of those and it was pouring down rain. Each wheel was chattering for control as we screamed down the street. Asked the owner for the same ride when it was dry and it didn't feel any different. Puckup version was the Cyclone if I remember correctly.
