    MKIV body trunk asymmetry

Any of you roadster builders out there ever try to fix the asymmetry of the trunk lid...move the license plate mount to center it? Any pitfalls or recommendations regarding the work involved? I'm in no way a fiberglass expert but I'm looking at it thinking "how hard can it be?" which is usually the last thing I think before I end up in a mess of trouble! Before I start chopping, grinding and cutting I thought I would do it right and ask those who have been down this path before me. Maybe it's not worth the effort? Appreciate any thoughts/insight.

    RT,

I corrected the issue by ditching the stock license plate assembly and replaced it with a lighted bracket from Billet Specialties.
By taking this action I was able to come up with an OEM-Look even though it is far from being the OEM assembly.

Since I was able to move things around my assembly actually fits and fits well.
    It really masked the issue.

    Good Luck!

Funny thing....That video you linked was one of the first MK4 build/completion videos I watched! Great looking ride...and I love the name "Redbone" I plan on doing stripes so in your opinion would that plate mount hide the offset well enough? Could I ask a favor?....could you post a good shot of Redbone's behind on this thread so I can see it up close?
