    rear suspenion

    Can someone tell me the best way to align the 3-link rear suspenion using the panhard bar. where and how is the best place to take measurments Thanks for any help

    1. Set the car to your intended ride height which should make the Panhard Bar appear to be parallel or nearly parallel to the ground.
    2. Assuming you have the wheels on the car, adjust the bar so that your rims are equidistant from the wheel lip to the frame at the 12 o'clock position.
    3. After that, assuming you have your driveline in place, determine that angle and adjust the upper link so that your pinion flange is in phase.
    4. This should get you pretty darn close before you start pulling strings to check to see exactly how well you set the rear axle thrust & angle.

    All the panhard bar does is center the axle in the chassis (and keep it there). Go dad pretty much covered it but one thing you might want to do first is verify that the axle is perpendicular to the chassis. I like to measure from each end of the axle to a point at the front of the car (the firewall for example) and verify that both sides are identical. This is mandatory if you have adjustable control arms but is a good idea even if you don't because otherwise you are at the mercy of whoever built the jig and welded your frame to get it right.
