    Electrical Connector Part Identification

    Hi

I am going through an inventory check of my kit that has recently arrived and just wanted verification on an electrical part.

This is for a right hand drive 818. Can someone please confirm whether the item in the photo is "81003 H7 Headlight Connector"

Those are weatherpack connectors. An H7 bulb has 2 flat connector tabs on its base.

BTW, those are nice connectors. Is FFR shipping weatherpaks with new kits?

    Thanks @narly1

    Could they be

    81001 Shutter connector

In the manual, there is a picture of what I thought was the shutter connector that matches another part I have - a pair of connectors already attached to wires and so I have checked that item off as 81001, but perhaps I am wrong.

There is no mention of weatherpack in the packing list and I can’t really see any other option that these things might be.

Sorry I can't help you there, but I will say that Weatherpack connectors would be a great connector choice for that type of application.

My left hand drive kit from 3 years ago came with:
80979 US headlight components which contained:
    81000 H9 headlight connector
    81001 Shutter connector

Looks like your right hand drive comes with 81003, a connector for a slightly lower power H7 bulb which requires a different connector. So, instead of an H9 connector with short wires attached, you got an H7 connector and will have to add the wires. Enjoy your build!

The connectors in the baggie look a lot like the connectors I have for the projector headlamp high beam shutter. Mine came as pigtails, but I bet it's the same connector. Find one of the pretty yellow Hella boxes and see if the connector in the bag matches one on a headlamp shutter. Good luck.

It is labeled a Delphi connector and looks a lot like a GM Delphi / Packard - 2 Way Metripack 280 Connector Plug for 9006 / H7 / HB4 Headlight Bulb shown here:

The best way to tell, of course, is with a trial fit. Good luck with your build.

Thanks everybody, looks like the answer is “yes”. I’ll check it off as OK. Unfortunately, my headlights haven’t arrived so I can’t use them as a check.
