I am surprised that more folks that opt for the hard top do not chose the Speedstar body. This is my Speedstar.

Very cool. I was told by FF that the top on the Speedstar body is not as tall and could be a problem for headroom if the driver is tall.

I'm 6 ft. tall and heard the same thing so I went with the Hot Rod. Didn't want to chance it.

I am 6 ft tall and I have about 2" of head room. When I sat in the Speedstar they had in the show room I had more head room but it had the Vintage Race seats, I got the standard seats because they are easier to get in and out of.

Ya Dave, you're 6' tall but what inseam?

You height less your inseam would give an idea of the distance from the seat to the top of your head and that + 2" would be the approximate headroom available.

I'm 6'3 and typically go with 36" inseam pants (Think hard-boiled egg on stilts, LOL.) so thinking I'll be good in the headroom department, leg room not so much, I'll probably have to build the seat pad front edge up to support my thighs properly.

So doing the math, even though I'm 3" taller than you the headroom should be about the same for me.

Project is still coming along. Anyone in St Louis area available for some registration questions? More specifically, the inspection process and if a 1933 “replica” is eligible for historic plates in MO. 1C26F973-2144-45C8-BC32-A5B868D64889.jpeg

Still progressing. Doors are a major PIA. Just troubleshooting some engine / Trans issues before moving along. Also applied for title, so I got that process rolling. Seems to be a several month process beginning to end in MO.IMG_3378.jpegIMG_3380.jpeg

Silly me. I thought the front windshield would fit right in. Apparently that is going to require some trimming of the top to get it to fit.

It should fit. That doesn't seem right.
Did you see my question in the area below the build section threads? Seeing how you got your kit at about the same time and have AC and have your radiator mounted, I'm having trouble figuring out the condenser bracket positions. How did you do yours? Any help appreciated, thanks!

One more thing. The hood hinge mounts. How did you put yours on the grill. Picture of possible, please. Thanks!

    hood hinge mounting

I have the Gen 2 hood hinges mounted on a Gen 1 Hot Rod. This is the best photo currently available of that area. Hope it helps.

Still lots to be done, but I did get a VIN. Everything required to pass a MO inspection is done, so I can actually license it and drive it soon while I finish it up. Made a video on my iPhone, but not sure how to post it. Arg.
