Drive Shaft Safety Loop on MK 2

Just curious is anyone knows or has run this driveshaft loop on an MK 2? Vendor is not certain it would fit but crossmember mount looks the same to me.

    Thanks

With my MK 4 I'm not the one to give you a direct answer, but I'd be happy to measure the critical dimensions on my frame and loop this evening if that would help.

also a MK4 here, but I'm sure you'd be able to find someone to buy it off you if it didn't fit correctly.

Thanks guys, see my picture pretty sure the layout of the transmission cross member and side frame tubes has not changed.

There are a bunch of photos here if photos help. Good luck.

If anyone has easy access and can get me the measurement in the attached photo of the part I'd appreciate it. My transmission (T5) seems to be farther past the tube mount so concerned the loop would not reach my driveshaft.

Can do that tonight, although I think you'll have trouble based on this photo of my setup. T5 with Ford 8.8 pre-2015 IRS. It appears you have a much smaller bracket in front of your 4" cross frame tube than the MK4 does.

Thats for sure, maybe you can just measure from center of the big hole in the safety loop bracket that goes around the loop to first set of holes on both ends of the bracket transmission and drive shaft sides. Doesn't need to be exact just need to roughly know if I could drill to fit if needed.

The dimension you have shown in your image is 9-1/2”, from the support bracket first bend to the front edge of the loop itself. Feel free to send a PM if you need anything more or want to talk it over. Cheers, John

So did you try the driveshaft loop and does it fit?
