Erik T. characterizes his build as "the Beta" unit. I understand this to mean that FFR isn't selling the Speedstar to the general public yet. I suggest you consider his build thread: https://thefactoryfiveforum.com/show...R-in-the-HOUSE!

Due to personal interest I actually asked Dave Smith directly about this kit back at the start of 2021 and was told they had 4 or 5 of them in the production schedule at that time.

I seem to recall that (power) side windows was one of the holdups but I could be wrong.

If I were a betting man I'd be putting my money on the (re)-appearance of the Beta car at the Open House. At least that's what I'm hoping for..

I read through that thread, apparently he is installing a new "production" body on the beta car, which tells me they have made some changes to the production body, but the thread doesn't specify the changes.
The Factory Five site has the order page for the Speedstar up, and no mention that there is any production delay or order hold.

Erik is doing a rebody on the factory beta Speedstar using a production body. The original purple beta body was handcrafted and not from production molds. Plan is for it to be at the Open House

No need to put that message up, the lead time on orders last time I heard was 8-9 months....

You should go ahead and start your build thread showing what you ordered and what your plan is.

That's crazy fast compared to the lead-times for we've seen of late for other FFR models. Best of luck with your build!
