You're rockin' Erik! Love the updates, my vote is for more of the "how to" for the tougher stuff (like the door alignment) like you did on day 6. Recap is great for the "slap it on" stuff

Interesting that the cab didn't need the firewall in place for alignment to the chassis. Can't do that with the '33

    Keep em coming!

    Erik,
I really enjoy following your videos. Thank you for taking the time to do them. Your attention to detail is well thought out. Just taking the time to rewire the engine makes a huge difference in the end appearance. That looks really clean even without the loom.
I do have a dumb question as I really like the truck with the larger cab. I have the idea of building one in a similar style to Henry R’s 33 with bomber seats and metal door inserts. I would like to use the OTB Gear 6 gauge bomber insert but the dash has the raised oval design. Would that area of the dash be able to be smoothed or would the whole dash have to be re-fabricated?
    Respectfully,
    Jeremie

The dash is just fiberglass....so yes it can be smoothed and then body work done to get the flat dash look

That engine looks like 10 gallons of water in a 5 gallon bucket, LOL. I thought the Gen 2 Coyote in an MK4 was tight. I think that has it beat.

Sounds like just a typical Treves morning:
“I got up…went to clean up the garage…next thing I knew the fuel system was done…then I had breakfast and went to work.”

Hi Erik. I noticed your front shocks mounted upside down. I went back to the day 12 update to confirm you said you had the double adjustable shocks and I remember reading that the double adjustable shocks can not be mounted upside down, i.e., the controls must be at the bottom to function.

Anyway, just wanted to bring that to your attention before you went to far.

Day 24 - I figured you didn't want to watch me talk about the truck today since all I did was put 10qts of oil in the engine and top off the transmission and rear end..... I also centered the steering column.... that's all unfortunately - long day at my normal work and I am beat.... see ya tomorrow!

Hi Erik... I do have a few curious questions about this build.

Why is this build going to SEMA? Is it the extended cab, the engine, etc, i.e., what makes is special for SEMA? Is this build for a sponsor, another person, or yours? Lastly, what's the main drivers/requirements for this SEMA build that dictates what you end up doing?

    Thanks Mark

I am fortunate enough to have been one of the BETA builders for the last 5 (6) kits that have been put out to the field - 289,Gen3 Daytona, 35 truck, F9, Speedstar, 35 extended truck...... I built the 289,Gen3 and first truck for myself - this one is for Factory Five - with the exception of the F9 they all to SEMA to be displayed in their booth. Hence "SEMA Build". I am not a Factory Five employee - just a guy who likes to put these cars together - The other thing with this specific build is that the truck kit was assembled and shipped to me under the "new" parts tracking system - so I guess I am Beta on that too . I have to detail the build and process back to FFR (and forums) - provide feedback so the that the when they go into production the process should go smoother. I already have the next build planned - FOR ME..... so that will be coming soon....... so stay tuned.

    Erik, nice progress.

    Some questions:
    1. Could the headers have been installed on the engine out of the chassis and then lowered in? (this will help me on my build plan)
    2. What size wheels (including offset) and tires used?
    3. What size are the Stage 8 bolts (thread size and length)? Also, what style lock flange on the Stage 8, e.g., the tear drop lock flange or the crescent shape ones?

I'll reverse my motor mount bolts for header clearance..... Will you suggest to FF to add that to there install manual? Is there enough room for header glass wrap?

    thx Mark
