Help needed... Coyote Gen 3 Oil pres switch and unknown sender???
I received my Coyote Gen 3 engine and T-56 Tremec 6 spd transmission yesterday. I'm going though the FF Coyote install manual and removing flywheel, Mustang right header, Head/Header studs, Oil filter & cooler and now going to the step to remove the Oil Pressure sender. But, there's an extra sender I don't know what it is and it's not referenced in the FF manual that I can see?
In the pic blow, You can see the pressure sender on top.... but what is the sender below it?
Thx Mark

That's a oil bypass solenoid. You can either leave that one as is or remove it. There's been several discussions on the forum about it's usefulness. I personally followed Paul (edwardb)'s advice and kept it as is. The Ford engineers put it there for a reason after all.

Is the bypass solenoid for use with an external oil cooler? How does it function?

Apparently it lessens the oil pressure during low RPMs to improve fuel economy. Just an internal function added for better emissions.
