    oil pan for Road Racing

What oil pan should I get? I'm hoping to do some autocross / road racing this summer. Is the stock pan sufficent? I have a stock 302 right now but at some point I may be doing a performace top end. I have to drop the oil pan because it is leaking anyways so I figured it might be worth looking into.
    Thanks

The stock pan won't do, I have a couple different types of road race pan that fits these cars well.

If you don't go with Gordon's pan Breeze Automotive has a nice one as well. I have the one from Breeze and works great.

The stock pan isn't a good idea for your purpose. I bought the Breeze pan for the same reasons you stated.

    X2!

Inside the pan, the baffle has been removed to show the trap doors. The pickup fits in the center of the square:

I'm using the pan that Breeze now sells. It's a good pan, and seems to work well on the track. It's no longer available for the 351W. If I were going to buy a new pan, I would buy Gordon's. It seems to be a good balance between price and performance.

I do have one gripe about all the pans I see available. The drain hole is in the front. But the engine tilts to the rear. That means there's a certain amount of oil you can't drain out, unless you jack up the rear of the car more than the front. I welded a bung into the back corner of the pan. I don't know why pans don't come that way.
