Skidpad Thursday...
A goal of mine has been to drive my coupe in as many types of events as possible- so far: drags, autocross, HPDE and open road rally- drift was next and last.
I rented the skidpad for myself at one of the local tracks here in CA. My goals were controlled donuts, tight and wide and then maybe figure-8s.
If the car spun I lifted to regain composure and then set out again- I tried really hard not do the 'pendulum smoke shows' that happen when folks keep the throttle pinned. I was trying to build skills and understand the car.
Here is a montage of some video- the camera is a Insta360, either on the hatch of the car or stuck on a pole in a cone. Odometer said 9 miles of driving but that is with the rear wheels spinning.

That's pretty cool Dave. I'm assuming that pretty much trashed a set of rear tires?

That's super cool! If you don't mind me asking, how much was it to rent for how much time on the skid pad? I wonder if we can get a few NorCal folks to group rent a skid pad for a day and figure out how to handle our cars.
