MK4 Inner Tie Rod End Length

I have a 2017 MK4 complete kit, with power steering (supplied by FFR). I originally aligned the front end, but the steering wheel was not straight. I turned the tie rod ends while installed, DS 2-3 turns out, PS 2-3 (the same amount as DS) in., until the steering wheel was straight.
Now, while working on the car, I realized I didn't know how much the rod end was inserted into the outer TR end. I decided to confirm this. It was less than 3/4". I don't feel that's adequate.

    The manual says:
The inner Tie Rod Extensions are for stock Power Steering Racks only.
The inner Tie Rod Extensions are not for the FFR manual steering rack.
The inner Tie Rod Extensions are not for the FFR power steering rack.

FFR Parts page shows Inner Tie Rod ends - SKU:#13693 and the description says: These inner tie rods are included standard in all 94 and up donor kits. They are the stock width of an 87-93 inner tie rod and are needed to make the newer steering rack work on our kits.
Question - How long are they, total length, end to end?

My Question Is: How long are they? My stock/existing ones are approx 11 3/4" long , total length.
I've also seen inner tie rod Extensions on-line, not sure if that's the best solution.

EDITED: After a call to FFR Tech support, I may have discovered the issue. It was suggested that I center the rack "Travel", then install the steering shaft adapter, with the steering wheel aligned. Then install the outer tie rod ends and adjust until wheels are aligned straight.

I thought that I'd done this previously. I'll find out tomorrow if this solves the issue.

EDIT #2: Yes, I previously centered the rack. Checked the rack travel, centering it, again. Was off maybe 5 degrees. DS inner tie rod end now inserted a little less than 7/8" into outer tie rod end. PS now inserted just over 7/8".

I'm concerned that this is not sufficient to withstand impact, if bumping a curb or????
