    6-10-23 Buttonwillow 5 Hour Race

We had a good race going until we broke a half shaft. We have NEVER broken a half shaft before and I believe this was the result of a hard start from the pit lane on hot race tires that never broke the tires loose and the engine was ultimately stalled when the clutch was dumped. Didn't immediately break, but the damage was done. Axle gave up on the front straight while just doing a normal 3rd to 4th upshift. Very minimal stress there.

In any case, we changed the axle and finished the last hour of the race, but did not finish well. 8th overall.

Very little other drama and the car ran great. We are simply running these races to prep for the 25 hour race later this year and things are reasonably on track.
