    Cowl access panels

Are the access cut outs really needed on the cowl? In some pictures I have seen some cars have them while others don't. Are they only for access to the master and the firewall mountings?

    Hey Marv,

I can tell you I have taken those panels off over 50 times at least. It's amazing how much I get in there from bleeding the brakes, adjusting the bias, removing the top for the roadster windshield, accessing wiring, working on the clutch quadrant etc. If you're running a hood, I'd definitely cut them out. If you're going hood-less, then you might want to leave them out for the sake of keeping it clean however you'll be under the dash quite a bit during your build. Dan Ruth actually made his bigger and he's the master at building these things.
