Arrow Porsche cayman S VS. 01E transmissions and engines

    Hey Fellas,

Whats your choice between the porsche cayman S 3.4l 6sp manual transmission. Vs.. audi 01E rebuilt.?

And whats your engine of choice to go with your pick?!

    I'm leaning porsche with either a 1uzfe or L99.

And I should mention this is for a custom build...not a gtm

For the GTM? I would say an LS motor.

Unless you plan on taking a junkyard LS with 100k miles on it, making it shiny again with a spit clean and a handful of new parts, I don't see how it's possible to do a V8 for less than $6k these days. Everything is expensive.

If you're thinking new, there no chance. Not even a 302 Windsor. The damn accessory drive will cost $2k.

I edited my original post. Forgot to mention this is for a one off car based on a Lotus esprit chassis/suspension.

i know right?! its crazy. Definitely going used. I'd considered the the L99 which can be had for less than 6k. also would entertain the 1UZFE I think...just not sure how well it would play with the boxster tranny.
