    grill

What have people done with the grill other than chrome? Looks? Likes, dislikes? Don't have a solid company around here to chrome grill so looking at other options.............Car will more than likely be painted to look like old barn find with a little chrome on wheels, handles etc to look like someone is trying to fix up. Thats why I was thinking chrome but doesn't appear to be working out for me........thoughts? Paint it to look like rust? Clear it with no finish? Shoot coat of rust red primer and clear? Looking for ideas and things other people have done with grill other than chrome.

Most I've seen in pics are polished. Some are painted black. It all depends on your color scheme.

Mine was in great shape when I got it with no pitting, scratches or defects, so I left it natural. Not for everyone, but it seems to compliment the body color.

I just got done polishing the grill for my 33 last weekend. It started as brushed cast aluminum, so I wet sanded it from 600 to 2000 grit, then buffed out to a beautiful shine with Mothers polish. I am going all shine on my build, so it needed to look like this. Total time 2 hours.Image - 2023-07-16T112503.199.jpegImage - 2023-07-16T112510.419.jpegImage - 2023-07-16T112513.831.jpeg
It actually looks shinier that the photos show, my cell phone camera sucks.

That looks great! I plan to do the same with mine, but I expected the job to take much longer. This is encouraging.

I polished as well. Really cheap option to start with for sure. I plan on keeping it that way.
