    LLC Business Loan?

    Hello,

I'm retired, but also an MBA student. I want to eventually build my own 65 Coupe as a hobby, but figured since I have the time I could assemble a few cars per year, auction them, and use the proceeds to fund my personal build. Does anyone have experience/advice with starting an at-home kit-car assembly small business and obtaining a business loan to order the first few vehicle parts lists, paying off the loan and purchasing additional kits with revenue, and continuing to invest in a profitable hobby? Thanks

    -Mark

I'll just say that building these cars on speculation (especially if you haven't built one before) is a risky business model. Better to build to order but again, if you are without build experience you'll probably find it difficult to attract customers.

I have never made money on an all new build. Almost anyone that builds these lose money when they sell. Just a fact of life.
You need to establish yourself as a builder then find customers that are willing to pay your labor.

The best way to make a small fortune assembling and selling cars, is to start with a large fortune.
