    Choosing an alternator?

Do y’all go through hours of painstaking math trying to size your alternators to handle the electrical capacity needed for all the custom components you use, like an upgraded fuel pump, cameras, added lighting, A/C?

Surveying alternators in the Mustang, it seems like the GT500 uses a 200 amp model whereas the GT and GT350 go with 125-150 amps. What do most coupe builders end up with? Or is it a super specific “it depends” and everyone’s is different?

FWIW, I started thinking about this while reading build threads and noting that the FFR A/C uses a Siroco Boreal 150w evaporator but they have a unit almost 3 times the cooling capacity that runs 310 watts (which would need a 30-amp circuit). Being in Miami, one can never have too much A/C but it’s very easy to have too little…

100amps is sufficient for most vehicle setups. There are a lot of electrical loads these vehicles don't have.
