Handy Tip. How to turn down small parts

I was in the process of making my own door latch strikers when I realized that most fellow builders would be either paying a lot of money for custom machined fitted bolts or just *******izing something to try and get a striker bolt to fit.
This video clip shows a very cheap and easy solution that I am sure that every builder has both the equipment and skills to complete.
Just purchase a ˝” axle bolt from your local hardware store in whatever length you need for around 65c each and “turn down” the bolt head in both diameter and thickness to resemble the supplied striker. You can then fine tune the ˝” diameter’s length to suite.
Please excuse my poor videoing perspective as I was trying to video with one hand and not cut fingers off on the other.
I hope that this is able to save you some cash.
