The SVX motor is sweetness. The autotrans should be an easy conversion to 2wd. The motor is aboujt 4-5" longer than an EJ.

I don't remember seeing a template that shows the relative location (side view) of the flat 4 in the 818 frame but it sounds like the extra length of the 6 cyl would protude into the cockpit. There can't be that much spare room in the engine bay. The discussions about transplanting one into a Impressa for example talks about moving the radiator forward. The view I got on the website does not look promising unless you are willing to do some major fabrication on the supports in front of the engine bay. How that would affect the space for seats, etc would be really critical, I think. Does anyone have a pic of the WRX in the chassis? WEK.

Motor wont fit, well not unless you want to do a lot of fab work. Wish it would though, i already have a spare, and i have the other in my legacy. Also there are a lot of odd ball parts with the svx that dont really jive with the whole subarus are legos thing and i know i would want to find out the hard way.

Suspension is completely different on the SVX. The lower arms are a 100% no-go. However, I'm not sure about the hubs/knuckles. Knowing Subaru, they might be Legacy pieces w/a larger bolt circle.

The 4EAT (Subaru's main auto trans) is the same length as the 6MT out of an STI. So if the 6 speed doesn't fit and hangs out the back the auto will do the same sadly.

Unlike all the Impreza and Legacy lines, the parts that go into the SVX's are nearly 100% different.
