Russ, What a bummer, I had beer money in my pocket. We have more plans for further improvements for the Race Coupe suspension. In the next couple of months you should see some great changes, to an already good system. I had a great time with Mark also, a blast to spend time with Him.

Understeer is when you hit the wall with the front of the car and oversteer is when you hit the wall with the rear of the car.
Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall and torque is how far you take the wall with you.
Now that I've found it, I am here as well. Known as flajctype65 in the other forum, and as MiamiBeat in this one. Couldn't register as the same name like some of you guys did. Didn't investigate enough or something I guess. Glad to see everyone here!
Oh yeah... XLR8OR reporting for duty.
It's never too early to start beefing up your obituary.
I'm here. A little late responding. I'm in Napa for the week, then heading home next Saturday. Limited access to the forum.

It's so good to see so many of you guys here!
I know this has been said a million times, but the most recent suspension improvements on the race Coupe were truly the result of a community effort.....As a little background......
Last year, I was fortunate to attend the SolidWorks World Convention along with a small goup of FFR owners/builders. While attending a convention with some of the brightest engineering talents in the world was, in itself, very cool, we also had the opportunity to hear some inspirational, and forward-thinking individuals speak about "21st Century design."
Our own Dave Smith was the guest speaker on the opening morning of the conference, and Dave shared the SolidWorks-facilitated engineering that resulted in the design of the electric 33 Hot Rod...Needless to say, when the 33 Hot Rod made its grand entrance into the convention hall, with its cool, retro-design and modern, green technology, it was nothing less than an immediate rock star.
James Cameron (Titanic/Avatar) was the convetion's keynote speaker, and much of what the owner of SolidWorks and James Cameron both spoke about were related to "collaborative" design efforts, and specifically, design efforts that are accomplished "in the cloud." IMHO, the design and engineering efforts that resulted in our Coupe's improved on-track performance are a direct result of the FFR build community as a "cloud in action". All of the design, engineering, mock-up's, discussions, collaborations, and actual work on the Coupe was done by individuals who never were in the same room together, yet, this team of talented individuals effected excellence is design and execution....Pretty awesome if you ask me!!!
Design, engineering and mechanical kudos to Jim Schenck, Mark Dougherty, David Borden, Hank Lopez, Russ Thompson, Carl Critz, and Andy Salvaggio, as well as a very big thanks to Dave Smith and the entire team at Factory Five Racing! Every one of you was riding along with me at Infineon last weekend (Hope you had fun, and as I recall, you guys really enjoyed the Carousel and stopping/pivoting on a dime at Turn 11!)...What a truly amazing community!

All,
Glad to be here and I hope the new site increases the traffic for the coupes. Hankl, I still don't get a jacket. Hopefully soon. My shop build got way out of control and dipped into my coupe money. Also, I picked up one of these (below)and a new family SUV. As much as I dream about a coupe, this has been life changing and now I wonder why I waited so long. Can't wait for him to hold a wrench with me.

mlueders,
Mine was ordered and paid for before yours, I'm betting you get a Red 1.
There was another Red Coupe, two hot rods and a GTM going west somewhere, maybe?
Rich...just spoke with Jason at FFR.
Looks like mine is 1-2 weeks away from being ready to ship.
Slither and Steamerbill are glad to report all is well here in Vermont. Still have 2 plus feet of snow on the ground so it will be awhile before it's coupe time. With the coupe parked under my Stanley Steamer access is tough. Still waiting to fit Russ's rear window kit. Summer's not to far away, who's going to have their coupe at FFR open house?
Break out the beer and tequila!
Hey guys, I finally made it. Things seem sort of quiet on the forum front...perhaps everyone's nose to the grindstone because Spring is in the air?
Git 'er done boys...yeah, I'm talking to Hank, John and Ken! If they weren't so busy helping all of us, and building absolute masterpieces, they have been on the road long ago :-)
Us girls will be testing the #28 Coupe at Buttowillow on Friday, and competing in a 3 hour day-night enduro on Saturday before our nail appointments......Might have my hair colored too, as those amber lights from the ES cars are pretty hard on the highlights......K

Good luck on the enduro! Hope you don't break a fingernail ...
Off to Tallahassee for a weekend cruise with the Deep South Cobra Club. So far, looks like 20 cars. I know this will make you sad, but sorry to say my A/C died so will be a whole weekend without A/C!
Garry
I sure miss my coupe!

The DSCC run sounds like lots of fun.....Pics, pics, pics!!!
As a fun aside.....There are at least four Coupe owner/builders currently developing their Coupes for the track, and I believe a number of them will be ready for some test and tune within the next few weekends......It's vonna be very cool to have some other Coupes out on track, and we will be looking forward to reports from these awesome owner/builders.....Woo Hoo!!
Have fun and be safe!
