    Marv's 33 #465

Received Thanksgiving day, plan is 306/345 HP Ford Racing engine, EFI (Mass Flow?) AOD, 3:55, A/C. Can't make up my mind on fenders/ fender less. To date front suspension powder coated and installed, firewall mounted, some wiring ran, pedal box in.
Debating on, Boyd tank, what rear brakes to use, mounting brake reservoir on the firewall lots of options.

Looking good Marv! Still waiting on FFR to finish mine, a few more weeks of agony until I can start.

Looks great Marv. I bought that motor originally but ended up finding a 351W for a good price. That motor will be really nice once it's all built up.

    More on build

Well I've been building on the weekends since the kit came. I have 45 miles on the car now, need to finish a lot of little stuff and then take it apart for paint. I think I'll finish fitting the hood this weekend.

So here's an update. The 33 is apart for paint. I have about 500 miles on it. I had to swap out the camshaft due to low vacuum to get the injection system working correctly. The new cam really performs better for the way I drive the car. I had the grill polished, put in the heat shielding and added Tim Whittakers hinge kit which by the way made a lot of difference. Here are a couple of shots. I can't wait to do final assembly.

Looks great! I am just getting ready to start on fitting door hinges etc. Tim, or Evan or Marv, how do the new bushings help? What is the benefit?

The bushings virtually eliminate the slop in the door hinges. The doors open and close very smoothly and there isn't excessive movement which could make aligning your doors a problem. The bushings need to be epoxied in the hinge arms and offset brackets prior to being installed but it is well worth it.

Beautiful car Marv, what size ragtop did you end up going with? Did you use www.slidingragtops.com?

The sunroof is 40 by 30 from Sliding Tops. So it went to Huntington Beach and took Best Use of Chrome. It was a great time, got to talk with Dave Smith and a lot of Factory Five guys and gals. My friend from ZZZ Tops 33 took runner up best 33 HR

    Marv-

Congratulations on the recognition, you certainly deserve it!

I love the rag top. It gives you plenty of options, and I think you will really get some use out of it.

Great color, and of course that chrome doesn't hurt either. Well done!

    Regards,

    Steve
