    Motor is in

Installed the motor and transmission Sunday. Went in fairly easy except I thought it would be a good idea to wait until I got the motor in and then install the motor mounts....NOT. That was a mistake. Had to slide it back out a little and lift it up about 6 inches. Once they were on it slipped right in and settled down nice and even. Installed the drive shaft, neutral safety switch, electric speedometer sending unit and the starter today. Another mistake...I should have installed the starter when I had it on the lift. Had a bit of alignment problem with the starter bolts. I have a Quicktime bell housing and I think there was a misalignment between the bell housing and the backing plate that goes between the bell housing and the block. It would have been much easier to loosen all that up and get a better fit for the starter hanging on the lift and before I installed the transmission. I hope to be able to fire it up in a week or so.

Yea, I was thinking about that. I don't have a video camera. My little point and shoot has a 15 sec video option. I'll have to think about who I can find that has a "real" video camera.

One more big step complete. Panel work looks great too.

Cool looking engine. Even 15 seconds of rumble is better then nothing!

What the heck! A good reason to buy a new camera, being that Sandy will have to film you at Infineon anyway!
