Coyote Install in MK4 - Drivers side footbox question

I just installed my Coyote in the MK4. Had to wrestle it in a bit, but ended up fitting. The big HOWEVER is that the drivers side rear corner is pushing on the Drivers Side Footbox (next to gas pedal) substantially. I see no way to readjust the engine to correct it, but am not sure if perhaps I've just done something wrong. Not sure how I could as it is sitting in the motor mounts correctly.

I'm looking for advice or pictures on how other coyotes are sitting. Have others just modified the footbox? or does it fit if the motor is installed correctly? I don't want to cut and modify the box if not needed, but will do so if that is the only solution. Thanks in advance for timely repsonses!

I had to install a Whitby shim under the drivers side motor mount and used a screw to pull the footbox in at the top by the left valve cover . I simply installed an "L" bracket on the 3/4 tube and used a sheet metal screw to pull the footbox in toward the passenger compartment and away from the motor.

PS. I doubt you did anything wrong, these motors are huge and a snug fit.

If you search the forum for "Coyote" you will see a few posts that discuss fitment and foot box mods.

Initially I placed a shim under the DS engine mount to reduce the tight fit against the DS footbox. However after much consideration I modified the footbox to address the Coyote head and gas pedal space issue. Unmodified the head had less than 1/16" clearance to the footbox (after shimming) and the gas padal had ~ 41/8 " space between the footbox and the brake pedal (brake pedal pad moved as far to the outside as possible).

I ended up using 3/8" aluminium plate spacers on the frame / engine mount to raise the engine.

I have attached photos of the foot box mods - result in ~ 3/4-1" clearance between the head and footbox and added ~ 2" to the space for the gas pedal.

These mods were not difficult - just mock up with cardboard before cutting
