    Donor timing woes

Ok I bought a wrecked donor, Driver side front end crash.
It didn't look like any damage to engine compartment, but its hard to see everything.
Turns out the driver side timing cover is broken and the camshaft sprocket is also broken. Missing part of the outer rim on the sprocket. Still a full circle where the belt rides.
I am hopeful the valves are still ok.
Does anyone know where I can get a new sprocket? Or timing cover?
Everyone sells timing belt kits with water pumps but no one seems to have the sprocket or cover.

Both of those are dealer only items. We also recently had a dealer sign up as a vendor on the site.

I would count on the valves being bent.

I got my cam gear from ebay..$25 bucks...get the covers from the dealer..they're cheap ..ebay has them for the same price buy then you have to pay to ship.

what year is the motor...I might have the cam gear left over from my rebuild.

    +1

Mine had a similar impact. When I did a leakdown test, I got ~ 50% leakdown in cylinder #3... :-/

    It's an 02 donor with 101k miles
Looked again tonight and the drivers side is about 180degrees out. That is if I'm reading the info I've found right.
With the crankshaft sprocket mark at the top, the passenger side sprockets are lined up single hash marks at back cover notches, and double hash marks align in the middle. But the drivers side double hash marks are at the notches.
Should it all line up single marks at notches and double marks in the middle on both sides when crankshaft is at top?

I stock the covers, gears, belts, tensioner and idler pulleys. The motor you have is due for a timing belt anyway. They are recommended to be changed every 105k
