I bought mine in Wrentham, MA $2200.00 2002 WRX Hit front driver's side. Engine running 157,000 miles. Front left lower control arm bent so I towed home. Sold off about $800 in parts that I do not need. This may have been a flood car because it is horribly rusted underneath but the interior looked brand new carpet and all. Here is a question it had a lot of aftermarket performance parts like strut braces etc.. it also had a turbo timer installed, should I use it? I have never seen the need for one before. Compresion cold was 148, 154, 158, 156 and the transmission was just replaced with a used one (paint marker all over it). I think I did OK.

Good to see this thread come back from the dead!

I bought my donor from Jeff Awender when he sold it here:

2006 WRX wagon, 70k miles, pretty much bone stock, very clean CA car
rear end collision, still ran, all 818 donor parts un-damaged!
    $5500
hauled the parts down to San Diego in Budget rental truck (~$300)

Yeah, after seeing lots of donors from the rust belt, I'm sooo happy with the condition of my parts! Although we're both in CA, Jeff's in the SF bay area, hundreds of miles away. We made a deal for him to finish stripping it and sell off the unneeded parts/chassis. I travel to San Jose for business, so one trip, I got a one-way ticket, rented a truck up there, and hauled it all back. Worked out well for both of us... He made some money back and I didn't have to finish the tear down.

137K Miles but dealer documentation showed the shortblock was replaced at 53K so in reality more like 84K on the motor, runs great!

$4000.00 Delivered to our door from local Subaru mechanic who was going to part it out.

California car with front corner damage. We had to replace one bent lower control arm that's it. Absolutely no rust or corrosion anywhere. Really nice to work on. Disassembly completed and starting to sell left over parts now.

2006 WRX 2.5L turbo sedan with 134,000 miles. Minor front end damage and needs new radiator/fans. The hood hinges are the only other donor parts I need to replace. It was a sleeper with many extras. Cobb turbo back exhaust, sway bars, cold air intake, short shifter, and best of all 12" Wilwood front brakes.
I paid a total of $1,950 (bid price of $1,650) with all of the extras from Copart here in So Cal. I plan on making a few dollors and having all of my donor parts with some great performance parts for my 818s. I can only hope the build goes this well.

With that deal you have another problem: getting your build up to the $15K goal.

    Mk3 Roadster #6228 4.6L, T45, IRS, PS, PB, ABS, Cruise, Koni's, 17" Halibrands, red w/ silver - 9K miles then sold @ Barrett-Jackson Jan 2011 (got back cash spent).

I don't think he will have a problem... quaife, big rear brakes, hawk pads, seats, aluminum radiator, CF aero, paint, top

You can see I have no problem spending his money....

With all the innovation and great ideas for options, keeping my build, (when I start) on budget will be the biggest challenge. LOL.
