    Happy Veteran's Day

Happy Veteran's Day to all our Veteran's. It's because of people like you that we can do what we can do in this Country. For those that have spent time in "less developed" countries, you know what I mean. Thank you for your service.

    Henry

Happy Veteran's Day from Canada. Here we call it Remembrance Day. I always recall this poem written in World War I by John MaCrae a Canadian Forces Doctor. He wrote it during a break in surgery in a field hospital. Sadly he did not survive the war.

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved, and were loved, and now we lie
    In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
    In Flanders fields.

    - John McCrae
