Shifter Choice Ebay K-tuned knock off
I had the MR2 rear cable installed. I didn't like all the wiggle and how imprecise it was. So, for $110 I bought a shifter from ebay. Billet Acura shifter looks like a K-tuned copy. I was impressed with the quality. I sliced it thinner. I then made a direction change linkage by copying other smart people here.
I love having the shifter located near the steering wheel.

Interesting. So you added the extra bellcrank to reverse the direction of the right hand cable. What arrangement do you have at the rear? Any negatives to what you have? Could the whole thing be dropped down into the console for those that don't want the shifter that high? Price is certainly right!

If you want to hide it in a console I would check out the mad dog tsx shifter, the cables exit much lower.

I believe the extra bell crank he added to flip the action is at the shifter:

Appreciate the link for the shifter. I was having trouble finding anything on a maddog shifter. Looks like the cables come out of that one much lower down and it can probably be mounted "up" onto the console structure with spacers to lower it down. I suppose you can reverse the direction of the movement at the shifter or at the tranny.
