What ever happened to the results for the color contest. Just saw the SEMA sneak peak thread and was wondering if the charcoal and yellow colors are the new FFR Sherwin Williams colors. Which ones?

you could start walking to Factory Five's headquarters now and probably not miss the results.

Hi Mad Dog. So SEMA has come and gone, any news on the colour names? We are all waiting to hear the names of the colours used on the Mk4 demo car, but I guess you cannot say until the colours are announced.

If you can't release the names, can you give a hint as to when you can?

    Thanks

I may be wrong on this, but I believe the colors used on the Mk 4 at SEMA are gray and yellow...

I may be wrong on this, but that's what I was told...

    Glad to help!

We're still waiting on Sherwin Williams to finish reviewing everything. They were very happy with all of the Factory Fives painted in those colors at SEMA the other week, so we're hoping to FINALLY get the official names announced soon.

So Mad Dog, who is holding things up? Is it Sherwin or Williams?

There are a few of us here with some well connected friends who might be able to exert some "influence" to get things moving along.

    Something to think about... ;-o)

    Regards,

Sorry for the lack of news on this. We have submitted the names to Sherwin Williams, which as you know is a large corporation, and we are waiting to hear their thoughts. As soon as we get any news on the paint color names, we will be sharing them here on the forum and Factory Five's website.

I suggest a phone call into this large corporation. Waiting for them to act without a (regular and repeated prompt) prompt is literally time wasting IMHO.

I was excited about this but now I'm just angry/frustrated. FFR should be kicking SW's butts about this. It is just paint names!

Hi Everyone. Plus a special warm welcome to the legal staff's at FFR and Sherwin Williams.

I have just sent a note to the folks at Guinness:

    Guinness World Records NA, Inc.
    45 West 45th Street
    Suite 902
    New York
    NY 10036
    USA

    Dear Sirs,

Factory Five Racing and Sherwin Williams held a fun and enjoyable "Name -That -Color" paint contest that ended May 15, 2013.
it has recently come to my attention that our planet has completed one full revolution around our local star, Sol, since this contest ended.
I'd like to suggest that the length of time it has taking to announce the winner's and loser's of this contest be certified as a Guinness World Record for Slowest Promotional Contest Results.

    Sincerely,

All the Contestants (who have waited over 8,736 hours to find out who are the winners)

If Sherwin Williams is using outside counsel, just imagine the billable hours on this matter.

Yes, I'm in-house counsel for a big corporation... sigh. I don't even move fast on my build.

So I woke up this morning and decided to calculate long it has been since the "Name the Paint Color" contest ended-----421 days or 10,104 hours or 606,241 minutes or 36,374,400 seconds.

Apparently this contest has fell into the same black hole that swallowed up Jimmy Hoffa, Amelia Earhart, MC Hammer, and Betamax and 8-track tapes.

Perhaps forum members can add other black hole victims to this list while we wait for the contest results.

I heard that the final answer was that the color "RED TAPE" was the hands down winner in this contest. Besides being a government favorite it was shown to have incredible adhesive values and unbelievable shear strength and Ray Charles is still stuck between the two shades submitted and hasn't made a final decision. The third place color was dead horse brown.

Anyone have any luck with the link on the brochure?

    sherwin-automotive.com/factoryfive

Might take another 20 months before Sherwin-Williams get that working. I don't remember many of these color names from the contest.

I think that was their plan. Now we aren't going to claim the name as our own and demand a prize.

The winning paint color names, as shown on the S-W chart, are pretty darn lame-o to say the least. What an utter lack of imagination and humor, by S-W and/or FFR. So very very disappointing, especialy after such a long wait.

    C'Mon, man!

    Da Bear

Uh oh.....One of those paint names tingles a few memeory cells....lol.

Oh yea...Iridium has very definite yellow pallor and Titanium is a mostly silvery colored metal, nowhere near the dark color as shown.......did anyone do their homework?
