All electric power plant ? Pros / cons

I'm want to understand the current thinking of using an electric motor in a Factory 5 car.

A quick search turned up the 33 Hot Rod which seemed impressive in the torque numbers verbally stated in the short video.

What do you see are the pros and cons?

As I see it, there's two big problems with an all electric drive train in any vehicle. First, the batteries don't last. in 3-4 years you'll have to replace all the batteries. And they are not cheap. Second, the range is quite limited. Generally somewhere around 100 miles or so.

If I could afford another car, I would like to have an electric Coupe for the race track. I think that would be a lot of fun.
