firewall flex
I have seen some posts on this topic. Does anyone out there fabricate and sell a bracket to stabilize the firewall when using a mechanical clutch cable? I have no welding skills and need to fix this. The firewall def lects a good half inch or so when I push in the clutch.

Sorry. I don't have an answer, but I doubt it will flex that much once the body is mounted.
If it was my car, I would convert to hydraulic and never look back.

There have been some nice parts made for this but in reality the firewall doesn't flex when the body is installed.

I used a piece of plate steel and some inside corner braces. Does not flex at all when clutch is pushed in.

Z bracket from brake hanger to clutch.

Ray,
I felt a bit uneasy about the flex myself. I didn't want the repetitive action of putting the clutch in and out to put undo stress on that corner of the body. I fabricated this one and there is zero flex.

I just used a scrap piece of angle. See my 33 build thread for the picture.
