Door and body hinge cover plates
This morning i made the drivers side cover plate for the hinges of the door to the body.
I started by putting masking tape across the top and bottom of both holes to make a straight horizontal line. The door was removed.
Once that was done I cut the centers out and left only the side pieces as markers. Then I did the same for the vertical lines of the openings.
I then made a cardboard template for the shape. I used a flexible metal ruler to connect the markers on to the cardboard. Once I had the opening marked I cut them out a little big bigger then the lines so that when I transferred it to the metal piece it would have the right size. Cut the thin flexible metal to size and hammered it to fit the shape. The hammer marks will have to be dealt with by the painter, but I think it came out well.
Hope that will help some one else along the way.

Then I moved on to the door side of things

And the end result.
They will be painted black before final install.

Now on to the passenger side.
