245/50/15 and 275/50/15 ala Erik Treves. I contemplated going larger in the back but didn't want the dunebuggy look. As it is they are the biggest sidewalls I've ever had on a car but I really love em. Putting the letters on was tedious and needed a ton of acetone to remove the superglue from my finger tips. By the last tire, I had no sensation on them because of the build up. Too funny.
Looks great...

Got the motor in last night! I'm really going to have to figure how this lift will work once I get the car done. As it sits the frame rails are just a tad too narrow to land right on the flat lift runners. The articulating arms may also be tough to move rearward enough to get the them on the footbox area.
Need more pics to tell what you are talking about. Will wood runners under the wheels help?
Also, don't leave that painter's tape on too long, it starts to get really "gummy" after a while...
Looking great though! sexy wheels and motor!

Man, been so busy lately getting the fuel system in has been a lot work ordering all the fittings etc. I also had to remove the tank and have a bung welded in for the return line. I had Andy Starr over from Hilborn as he was in town to validate my setup and he said all is good so far. He said the return line should never be close to the pickup due to aeration. Can't wait to get her fired up! I definitely underestimated how much it would take to build an engine up from scratch that's for sure. So many parts!
So at this point my eyes are getting crossed. Something about all this plumbing and getting it right I just just know something is going to leak. I'm hoping the Summit hose ends for braided hoses (there's like 12-15) will all work. I've heard mixed reviews which worries me. Still some reputable sources swear by them. I did my best to make clean cuts and bottom out the braided hose in the barrel and tighten them appropriately but I know that Summit makes line testing kits also worries me! But the fuel system is all run and now it's onto the water. The setup for this manifold is that it has two -AN8 fittings that go into the front with no water next attachment. Instead there is a remote thermo housing that has three outlets. Two for the manifold and one for the bypass from the water pump. (I think!).
So I plan on cutting that water hose in half and putting in a "T" on a 1.5" metal tube sleeve so I can pipe in the filler outlet from the overflow tank.
I'll get some more detailed photos of the fuel system in a bit.
Test fit the body while my side yard was being cleaned out (where the body gets stored) It was starting to look pretty redneck over there with weeds and stuff. It also helps to see where everything goes and lines up as well. I'm pretty excited. Now to test the windscreen position, pull the body and wire it for the EFI!
I also made the little Girling resevoirs like others have. This was pretty fun!
Now onto the trottle linkage. One thing I just read (which I'm very glad I did) was that if you're using a rubber mount engine, a cable is best where as if you are are using non rubber, a linkage is best. That is very important and for good reason! Thank you internet! :walkman:
Oh, I also did the Treves midshift conversion but I'm still working perfecting it.

Looking good Erik.
I've been working on the wiring and finishing up the plumbing last week and I did both custom spark plugs and a major wire diet on the Fuel injection harness from Holley. I also made some custom plug wires which was a lot tougher than I though it would be! There was just no other option and I'm glad I did both!
Also got the mounting brackets from Zip Corvette for the Harrison expansion tank and mounted up. Hard to know how high it can be without the body so I'm sure I'll adjust it when it is.
Are you running tubes in your tires?
Thanks
Next, did you shave the letters off or turn the tires around?
Bill D
Acetone for the paint and the die grinder with a gasket remover for the raised letters..
What?? Started?? Wow man, you're fast. How's the wiring going? Adding any circuits?

The Wiring is done. Not bad at all. It's pretty basic for now. Just the essentials but I am running the fan from the ECU which works great! Turns on at 180 and off at 150. Once i get the right pipes back on I'll put out a video.
Nice build as always, Good Luck Erick!
Some where out there is a Trophy with your name on it !!
Pressing the thin pedal on the right is more fun than I ever imagined !!!!

So Eric,
What ya thinking for color for the beast ?
Jeff
Well, been busy for sure. Just working on the interior which I chose to do mostly in leather (I had it left over from the 818 and it matched the seats perfectly) and making a few adjustments here and there. After hearing the Weldon fuel pump laboring a bit I gave them a call and they said that I definitely need a larger pickup so I picked up a new pickup! This one is from Granetelli and I bought it through Summit Racing. It's huge! 5/8" to be exact. So I don't have to worry about that anymore as the stock is 5/16" It comes with an -AN10 fitting on it which I reduced down to -AN8.
Looking good man! If I end up re-doing my dash will you help me cover it? You got mad leather kills, man...
PS What's that black goop around your fuel pickup? I just used the rubber ring gasket and that's it...

Eric, The size of the fuel pick-up is similar to the one I am using on the 33. I had Mike Forte make me one using 1/2" tubing for a carb. Your build is looking great.

Yes I started using the permatex form a gasket non hardening dealer when the hot rod started leaking. It may be over kill but at least it's sealed.
Everything looks great, and I have enjoyed watching the progress. So, no hints on the final color, huh?
I like the dash, and the extension in the center. The gauge labels on the metal background looks great!
I am really looking forward to seeing it all finished. Mad skills!
Regards,
Steve
The color will be as it is in the first photo. It's called Pozzi Blue and resembles the old Ford Midnight color. Very dark blue which looks black at times but lot but is harder to keep clean. Pozzi is actually a Ferrari color so it should be faster and handle better than Ford Paint.
Looks great so far! Can't wait to see the finished project!
Going to paint this weekend! So excited...
Eric, will this car be at SEMA this year?

Eric-
I did see the first picture, but I didn't make the connection that it was the color you had planned; you made it clear, I am just too dense. It's going to look awesome! I like the Pozzi Ferrari comment; good stuff!
Your engine is just all kinds of sexy. I am a big fan of the stacked injection, and yours looks awesome. You do nice work, and I really look forward to seeing her finished!

Steve
