Throw up a picture of the plate and the drive shaft.. FF has been known to send the wrong drive shaft...

Crappy thing is I did not think to check any of this until after I go through the trouble of getting it shortened.......
Any chance you have the wrong adapter? There is one for a Mustang automatic trans IRS pumpkin (aluminum case) is different than the Mustang manual IRS pumpkin (iron case). Just a thought.

When reading the instructions for IRS install it says the manual adapter is yellow zinc and the automatic is clear zinc coated. I am assuming the one I have is the yellow zinc. So that “should” mean I have the manual one.
That looks like the right adapter... How far off are the holes??? I haven't built a 33, but that has to be the wrong drive shaft. I wonder if either it has the wrong yoke at the end, or if it is for a 3 link setup...
I was trying to find a picture from my build. But if I remember correctly the drive shaft end plate has a little tiny circle bumped out to fit in that adapter plate circle....
My manual transmission adapter was black. But that was two years ago.

Looks like you have the right adaptor. But the wrong end yoke on your drive shaft. It should be this size to fit the manual adaptor that you have. Look at the measurements for x and y on this one compared to the holes on your adaptor.

IF there is no way to get it to line up, make sure that the holes fit back then drive shaft. If no work take the adapter and shaft to good auto parts store to get the right shaft end and have them put it on.
But make sure that the end fits into adapter. And is right lenght. Hope it is not to much problem.
X2 on the wrong end plate on the driveshaft. It should have a raised area that slips into the adapter. One other thing that I learned on my build. The fasteners shipped in the driveshaft box are not to be used. Had to call FFR to learn that one.

One other thing you should check when you get it all bolted together is possible interference with the e-brake bracket. Mine made contact and other Mk4’s don’t have any issue. Simple to grind down the corner of the bracket.

Paul,
Thank you for the link. I did measure and it appears I have the wrong flange end. Mine reads 2.33 and 2.39, opposed to the Spicer 2-2-489 that is 2.41 and 2.873.
My questions are; Did I get the wrong drive shaft? What Is the Power rating on these? Should I stop throwing money at the part and get a carbon fiber shaft made?.....
BigB-did you get drive shaft problem taken care of?
I have not decided on whether to spend more money on getting the new flange and getting it installed or get a custom carbon fiber one. Because I will be up in the 700hp range I am leaning toward the carbon fiber option, still need to do some digging to see what power rating the driveshaft from FFR is rated for.
