Papa,
Sounds like a pair of P___ed Off four cylinder engines so I think the car is fitted with a flat plane crankshaft.
My guess is that L-Series Block can handle the vibrations if the stroke was shortened to 3.25" or less.

My Lucky Guess Seems To Now Be Confirmed!

I think that going with the duel overhead cams will really make this thing scream.
Also, I bet that Mercury Marine was the place where GM hid the development of the new Corvette engine since they already have a big inch DOC Marine LS-7 power plant that sports a conventional 90 degree crankshaft design.

My O.C.D. Best Bet For Bore & Stroke For The C-8-R Engine.
We know the LS7 block can safely be pushed to a 4.125" bore so here is my OCD best bet for Bore & Stroke for the C-8-R Engine.
4.125" bore X 3.137795" Stroke = 335.47 CID
M E T R I C...C O N V E R S I O N
104.775 MM bore X 79.7 MM Stroke = 5.497.36 CC's or 5.5 Liters.
My pal Phil races a TOJ-206, shown below, and routinely zings the engine to 10-K so I took that stroke and then played with the bore to get to 5.5 Liters.

Sorry, but I'm bored today doing some family member senior citizen sitting.
