Has anyone attempted power brakes on the 33? Interested if there may be an acceptable kit for another car that can be adapted.

In the truck section someone added power brakes:

Essentially the frame is the same for the HR and the truck for the front part,.... I think?
The problem is that there is little space available in the engine bay, so the answer depends to a large extent on which engine you have. The link above is for Paul's truck build, and he has an LS engine. My comments on power brake boosters is at post 52, and there is other discussion further down. I believe he recently completed the mechanical installation.
I have a Coyote, which is a lot bigger than the LS. Many builders use the Whitby power brake setup, but I could not fit it in. I had to go a different route (as usual). There are a few photos and more discussion in the following threads: https://thefactoryfiveforum.com/show...-brake-booster and https://thefactoryfiveforum.com/show...8832-murdunjam

I used it on several 33 builds.

16+ FFR kits and counting!
power brakes are a tight fit, but very possible. However that being said swapping in a more " bitey" brake pad can drastically reduce the amount of pedal input needed to slow a car down (its also a light car, you are not slowing down a 6000lb SUV) . I feel this is a better solution than adding more components.
Thanks for all the info. Not sure about space requirements as I am using a 58 Buick Nailhead engine. I may try the softer pads first. Brakes stop the car but my old leg takes a beating stomping on the pedal. Never had this problem with my other FFR cars so it must be my age!
