Good Afternoon,
I have a '65 Coupe Gen 2, with a 347 and with a Quick Fuel Carburetor. Currently have the Accel 9001C Spark Plug wire set, 90* and ceramic boot. The wires on the drivers side have burned from the heat (passenger side are ok). Has anyone experienced this? If so, how did you fix it? What spark plug wires were used? Which spark plug sleeve was used?
Thanks in advance for your assistance.
Herb
Is it just me or do the header bolts look like they got super hot on the same side as the cooked boots? Could you be running leaner in on one side compared with the other? Could be a vacuum leak.
The plug looms you used look great but keep the wires to close to the headers. I used Mike forte style wire holders and used Summit boot sleeves, not as pretty but solves the problem. be aware that the header wrap you are useing can trap moisture and rot out your pipes. George at Gas N agrees.
