I'm thinking of wrapping my exhaust with the DEI exhaust wrap. For those who have done it, did it help reduce cabin temps or radiated heat overall?
Initially I just wrapped the pipes. The floor above the muffler (Gen 1) got so hot you could fry an egg on it. I then wrapped the muffler with the 2” wide stuff and then covered it with the DEI aluminum. The floor is only warm now.

i wrapped pipes after the collector, and wrapped my mufflers in TWO layers of the DEI insulated aluminum - but I'm still at the fried egg stage. Jim must have done a better job than I did. I can't imagine how hot it would be without the insulation I added!
But.. this is Gen1 again - totally different story with Gen2 floor.

Forgot to add that I added the gold foil to the bottom of the aluminum floor and insulation and sound deadening on the top of the floor too.
One problem there's maybe 1/4” between the top of the insulated muffler and the bottom of the floor, not much room for air flow.
I would think a Gen 2 should be a but better.

I called DEI and discussed the differences in products and ordered (from Summit) the DEI Titanium wrap for the pipes and the DEI Form-A-Shield for the muffler. The Titanium is their best highest heat rated wrap and the Form-A-Shield is rated up to 1400f as to where the muffler wrap kit is only up to 700f

I ordered Mega Block™ - Hydrophobic Foam Heat Shield from Second Skin Audio as it seems to be rated at the top as far as heat barrier and sound deadening. I'm going to cut it to fit like the FFR insulation kit. Foil heat tape to seal it to the rails. I'll use the DEI thermal tape on all the seems and edges

Personally, I wouldn't bother wrapping any of it on a Gen 2. The double floor does far more insulating than any wrap can. As for the engine compartment, the issue is trapped heat in general with no where to go - not just the exhaust pipe itself. With a gen 2, I would still add the FFR heat and sound insulation kit and also add the lizard skin stuff underneath.
I have the gen 1 and, as others have noted, the exhaust pipe and the muffler in particular are VERY close to the single skin floor. I double wrapped the mufflers; first with the exhaust wrap and then with a muffler form a shield type kit. I also have the FFR heat and sound and sprayed lizard skin under that. It helped but the floor is still very very warm. It would be much more effective if one could put a bigger space between the muffler and floor with a barrier/shield in between.
Since we are talking about heat, as we all know, the construction of this beast is basically a fiberglass shell over a tubular chassis. There are many gaps and passage ways from under the car into the passenger compartment. When I have the hardtop on and the windows open, a slight vacuum forms and sucks the heat in! I'm starting to stuff wool insulation into areas and am very motivated to charge the AC system and get it working for the coming season....

To the point of nowhere for the hot air to go in the cabin. Manufacturers put one way vents with flaps in cars and trucks to let air flow through when the cabin gets pressurized when turning on the HVAC. If you have a pickup, look between the bed and the cab and you will see one on each side. You could put one behind each seat on the waterfall or on the sides rear of the doors.
