Not pleased with the FFR MK 4 floor mats. Anyone have a better option
I bought the FFR Roadster Floormats and found them to bunch up into the bottom of the foot box on the drivers side. I had the mat cut in two and binding put around the edges at my favorite trim shop, so the rear half stays on the top side of the floor and the bottom half stays down in the bottom tray. I got some special floor mat clips from amazon that hold the bottom section tight to the floor. I can remove it for cleaning when necessary. The rear half I can take out and vacuum or shake out when necessary. This fixed the mats traveling. Didn't do anything with the passenger side, they pretty much stay where they are. Not sure what issue you are having but they tend to move forward if left stock.
FFR 9883 MKIV ,427 Windsor engine
TKX 5 speed, Three Link 3.55 gears
Power Steering, Leather Seats
18" Wheels and Tires, Drop Trunk
Fun Package
Thats why I threw mine away, bunching up on the lower floor was dangerous.
Mrk III, 331 stroker, Borla stack injection, T5, 3:55 IRS, Power steering and brakes. Kleiner body & paint
I just used a piece of diamond plate that takes up the entire lower footbox area. Looks cool and heel slides easily with the clutch.

Put a couple rivnuts in the lower floor aluminum and use some stainless button head screws and washers to bolt them down. It guarantees they do not move or bunch up.
Mk4, Moser M88 rear end, Eaton truetrak, Craft Racing 461 Windsor, MMR pro trans, Glenn’s 1,000 hp cobra fuel system and lots of other parts.
These fit my MKII very well and are made great. https://www.carcoverplanet.com/shelb...floormats.html

I second that and I added two plastic floormat hold downs to keep them in place.

Amen Rich,
I actually cut out some foam exercise mats to cover the carpet in the very front of the footboxes.
My carpet is always covered which allowed me to throw Factory-5 mats in the trunk.
The mats still look great and I don't have to worry about the bunching up.
I do use them (Sometimes) when I'm at car shows.

I did the same thing except drilled/tapped into the vertical portion of the frame just after the drop into the footwell.
tried these plastic claw-looking clips first but they weren't enough to keep the carpet from moving.
If you're trying to drill into the the vertical part, get a right angle drill attachment and do this with the body off the car. Way harder to do it otherwise. Also don't break off your tap in the hole. ask me how I know.
Shopping for mats myself, found CocoMats.com. I'm going to send them my original FFR Cobra logo mats and have them made. Pricey but look like good quality.
To keep our mats from sliding, I had my wife sew two loops on each corner that slip over the knobs on the Breeze seat bases. Works great.

I like the look of them. I bought a couple of carpet stair runner hold downs and mounted to the square cross member.
