Daytona Coupe Hood Clearance
I have ordered a Daytona Coupe kit and am expecting delivery mid-January.
It will be fitted with a just finished 351W based 393 stroker engine and I need to select an intake manifold for a Holley 7150.
My first choice would be a single plane air gap style but I am concerned about hood clearance issues.
The rotating assembly for the engine was balanced to within 0.5 grams, so using dropped solid engine mounts should not create a vibration issue.
I realize that the engine mount configuration will also affect the vertical alignment of the exhaust system relative to the body. I did buy the Factory Five stainless headers.
The oil pan I purchased as a result of my previous thread is a Champ CP351LT-RR. I was guided to this pan by Mike Forte. It fit the engine beautifully and is very shallow.
Any advice regarding intake manifold/air filter/engine mount related hood clearance issues would be greatly appreciated.

Mike,
One of the lowest profile intake manifolds available for your 351-393/W Stoker is the Edelbrock Torker-II. While most folks hate the idea of running single plane intake, your 393 will be happy with it because it moves the HP and TQ curves upward and allows cross flow thus reducing the nose over effect associated with 100% divided 180 style dual plane intakes. It will also flatten the torque curve depending on what camshaft and compression ratio you are running.

We tried to fit a Victor Jr. under the hood but it didn't work with the setup; however, please remember that my pals car is a Gen-1 Daytona and yours is a Gen-3 which may have more hood clearance.

As for me I like my single plane and it does work well. I'm running a Team-G #7530, which has a higher RPM range than the Torker-II, and it runs just fine on my 383 (All Dart) SBC. My pal Gerry has a Torker-II on his Gen-1 Type 65 and runs a 393 Windsor that has similar engine specs to my slightly smaller 383. From a performance perspective our cars are very equal; however, mine is quicker because of my transmission choice and rear end gearing. Jerry's running 3.55 gears with a TKO-600 while I'm running 3.73 gears with a ZF 64-40 transmission. His Torker-II and my Team-G both work well on our big inch small blocks since both operate at or below 6,500 RPM. Both cars retain more than enough low end torque to shred the tires in 1st with some tire spin in 2nd gear too.
Take a short ride with my wife and I to see for yourself if you think a Single Plane Intake killed my bottom end torque. By the way, we were in 2nd gear when I started my Shenanigan's behind the 1st pickup truck that I got stuck behind in the video linked below:

Good Luck Manifold Shopping!
