Hello, I wanted to introduce myself and our company, and supporting vendor here, FormaCars. My name is Doug Schaefer, I’m the Director of Design here at FormaCars. Around the forums you will also see our Performance Specialist Kyle McGlone, as well as our President Chris Relyea.

FormaCars is centered around performance automobiles. We are about doing anything that involves cars and making them perform better and look better. We’re starting with component cars, building them to a high level of finish and performance. We are just completing an 818S, have just begun a Mark IV, and are picking up a new Type 65 this weekend (Weather permitting!)

Our goal in building these is to learn and to demonstrate our capabilities. We intend to be a builder of high quality, stunning automobiles. Of course that’s easy to say, hard to execute, so these cars are intended to put our money where our mouth is. We plan to have all three on display at the London Cobra Show in June.

Building these cars allows us to discover struggles other builders may encounter and where we can help with well-developed solutions to common build problems. Our vision is to offer solutions to help you get your car done faster and better. Not simply more parts that get you closer to solving the problem, but as fully fleshed out solutions with everything you need in the box. We’ve developed several products from our 818 build and they’ll be coming to market in the coming weeks.

Our staff includes designers and engineers as well as experienced automotive technicians. I have over 20 years of experience in product development and engineering and 3D CAD design. Kyle is a brilliant tuner and fabricator, ready to put a turbo (or two) on everything. Chris has a background in materials engineering, mechanical engineering and has been a business owner for over 30 years. Plus, others with backgrounds in racing, fabrication, machining and more.

We are also backed by our parent company, Concept Engineering, an R&D consultancy and manufacturer with broad capabilities. This gives us access to a full machine shop with 3, 4, and 5 axis CNC vertical machining centers, 3 axis turning and 6 axis mill/turn, wiring harness manufacturing and software development, wide format printing, Short run manufacturing and assembly and order fulfillment. Concept also has connections with companies that do sheet metal fabrication, aluminum castings, powder coating, anodizing and more.

Look for more in the coming weeks as we get our 818 products to market and we progress on our next builds. In thee mean time, check out our website and let us know what you think about what we’re up to.
