Steering Column Location on Blank Dash
I am planning on a having Nick Acton build me a 289 Street dash for my car so I ordered a blank dash with the kit. I am going send the blank dash to Nick for reference as he had not built a FFR 289 dash (he does have 427 versions).
I offered up the dash to the chassis with the steering column installed and it appears that the steering column hole in the dash is offset ~1.5" to the right.
There is a small hole in the top center of the dash and having marked the center of the dash hoop that hole is 1.5" to the left of the dash hoop center.
If I look at the overhang of the dash ends the drivers side is longer than the passenger side by the same 1.5".
Measuring the distance from the drivers edge of the dash to the center of the installed steering column it is 18".
So is my dash made incorrectly or am I missing something in the way that it installs?
hope the attached pictures help explain the situation!
