I wanted to take a moment and give a shoutout to BluePrint Engines for their amazing customer service.

BLUF: BluePrint engines customer service is second to none and am extremely pleased and impressed with their service. They have earned a customer for life and will use them for all my future projects after this event.

I purchased a 427W from them a few years ago and the project is still not complete so I only have <100 miles on the engine that are within the neighborhood over the last year or so. Last year in November I was doing a test drive after messing with some stuff on the car and the car stopped/died suddenly on the road. I brought the car back to the house and after some investigation I quickly found that the distributor gear ate itself.

It is noteworthy that I supplied the distributor which was a Holley hyper spark distributor. Prior to purchase, I called Holley and talked with tech 2 or 3 three times and they assured me that every time the gear supplied with this was of proper material (it wasn't) for a roller cam.

After the gear breaking, I called Holley services and they were rude and not helpful, conversation was very one direction with the demeanor of 'sounds like its your engine builders problem' and not ours. I called multiple times and got the same reply each time and they assured me each time that the material was correct.

I then contacted BluePrint engines, they politely asked for pictures and a description of what happened. I pulled the oil pan off, sent pictures from the crankcase looking up that showed surface scarring on some of the camshaft lobes and also sent pictures of the distributor and the gear. BluePrint quickly replied back saying we absolutely need to pull it apart and address the situation, I even clarified that I supplied the distributor and they said it wasn't a problem. All they asked for was for me to pull the engine and package it and they'll coordinate the freight shipping and everything else.

It is a few months later, I have sent them the engine, they have communicated with me each part of the way and have done more than I could ever have asked for. The engine was re-conditioned as needed, buttoned back up, dynoe'd and on its way back to my house.

Their warranty claim gave them 100% right to tell me to pack sand and in no way were required to help me as they did. Hope anybody that is reading this considers using BluePrint Engines for the project, I can't explain the help they provided and prevented this from being a nightmare.
