Their site says you get a rebate form when the product arrives. I wasn't sure if that was exclusive to ordering it from the factory or if it comes in the box regardless of who I buy them from. I have the dark blue WRX injectors in my donor so I'd get $200 if I send them my old ones.

The rebate is directly from DW and the injectors bought from me would be included. There are only certain injectors that are part of the rebate offer so check to be sure yours are part of the program. Looks like they are.

Erik's Raijin wheels showed up first and I thought, "I bought the wrong wheels!". Then mine showed up 2 days later and saw that the Kojins looked just as good.

And as a side note if you ever get to drive a Mercedes SLS at the race track, you should do it. Amazing car and what a sound it makes with the V8 at 7500 rpm down the front straight!

I would have loved to have grabbed my GoPro but that was all the way down at the trailer and I wasn't going to risk him changing his mind to let me drive it while I walked down to get the camera. The car is so cool that the factory NAV system will lap time for you and has quite a few tracks start/finish lines already preprogrammed. It was running 155mph when I got on the brakes in turn 1.

There was a guy at the one lap of america race this year with one and we were all amazed at the sound as well. Sounded like a jet going by. Absolutely no normal engine noise. It was the weirdest thing.

    Hi Wayne,

It was very nice to meet you at the open house.

You mentioned that the Cusco LSD was much cleaner than some of the other LSDs which left metal flakes in the transmission fluid. What are the tradeoffs between the Quaife (Torsen style) and the Cusco (Clutches). How long does the Cusco clutches last between rebuilds? The Quaife has lifetime guarantee and the Cusco needs periodic clutch rebuilds (how often?). I am still trying to figure out which LSD will be best for my 818SR build. I want to understand the trade-offs to make as informed a choice as I can.

    Wayne, Metalmaker, RM1SepEx and others,

What do you recommend and why? Thank you for any help you can provide.

    Cheers!

There is a detailed thread somewhere

all out racing, clutch type, adjustable but req maint
street/autocross use torsen (Quaife, OBX , OBX must be rebuilt before use, Erik did a nice piece on that) no maint works well for all around use

    IMNSHO haha

I'm using a quaife for my street/autocross machine, possible track day beastie

The Quaife with the lifetime warranty is hard to beat. Very smooth, a little less money than the Cusco. I can get either for you.

The aerocatch are nice. get the top mount. The bottom mount are smaller but real hard to get a good look so people end up using trim rings.

You have to keep them clean, as gunk can get in the spring/latch mechanism.

are cool too. They hold 150lbs each.

You just push on the button and it unlatches?
That's kinda nice, I like the idea.

What happens when you lock up the doors and park the car?
Do the latches lock up as well or anyone could open the hood?

I think those latches are just simple push buttons, not lockable. You'd need something like locking aerocatch pins.
