I'm sure I will have a bunch of questions as I get going, I have one now that some of you may have questioned too? I have never seen a Koni installed upside down like they show doing on the front. FFR has pictures in the build book of the rear installed oil side down? I put my front shocks on oil side down.
Welcome aboard!! In that third picture, I hope you don't have to sell the farm to complete this project!!! By the way, keep asking questions on this forum, we'll help you empty your wallet. LOL Hey, how come no snow on the ground?

Coupe #421, Picked Up 11/15/08, started 1/1/09 - Rebuilt mildly massaged 302, T5, 3 Link, and Loads of Extras
Welcome to the madness. The shocks go in upside down. They are gas filled shocks so the orientation doesn't effect them.

Ok, I'll double check, but they will work OK body down. Are they valved to work that way? I tried to contact Koni but haven't talked to them yet. I can't believe they make shocks that are up side down like an off road car? The FFR book is confusing in some pictures on the rear the body is down and some are up?
Yeah, watch out for that manual, It can be more confusing than helpful at times! Sometimes the pictures aren't even of the coupe. I've spotted the roadster several times so far. The people here will get you through it though. Ask lots of questions like me! Oh, and plan on doing things more than once. I sure am....
A friend of mine that has been around a lot of circle track cars said upside down isn't that unusual because it makes less un-sprung weight.
that is correct, it changes the dampning action.

Any of you guys had trouble with the interior aluminum fitting bad? Has the dash always been one piece?
The interior aluminum can be tricky. I was able to get a reasonable fit although I think I could do better now. I suggest trying to somehow temporarily install ALL the panels before you commit to fastening any one panel. For example, a slight shift of the floor here and there affects the fit of all the panels around it. Just drill a few holes if you need to until you get the best possible fit.

Yes I think the dash has always been one piece although some have made it a two piece by cutting the top 1" or so from the bend. I personally bought a dash from Casey Design which is a 2 piece with removable gauge inserts.
