I like many other of you got the bug to put a car together. I used to have fun in my late teens and early 20's working on cars with a group of friends, back when Muscle Cars and gas was cheap. I had to put that aside while I spent some time in the Navy, got Married and did the family and career thing with not much time for much else for quite some time. Now that the kids are grown, and I am approaching retirement, I wanted to pick the hobby up again. After much research, I decided to do the 33 Hotrod. I will be receiving my 33 kit in a few weeks. This should be a blast. I hope to learn much from the Forum.

I am going to build the 33 with the bike fender option, I will be utilizing both the hard top and the open roadster setup from time to time. That is one thing I really liked about the 33 is the ability to change the look.
I have a 351 Cleveland motor I will be using that is a little warmed up, but as light as the 33 is I didn't think I needed to go too radical to get more than enough performance. I will be mating this to a TKO600 and a 9" Moser rear end set up with the 4 link suspension.

Sounds like a nice combo. Lately there have been posts about how to better attach the tops and windshields, in summary;
The forum seems to favor installing the roadster windshield first then install the hardtop based on the previous holes instead of the other way around.
Several guys have said to counterbore the tops fiberglass to seat the riv-nuts deeper and some prefer to then install studs to make the change easier.

I suggest dumping the fuel tank and all the 4 link bars for better parts, more suited to a streetrod instead of a track car.

Although I'm not familiar with any '33 builds in the St. Louis area, you are more than welcome to join us at a Gateway Cobra Club meeting in the summer, there are a number of FFR Roadsters. (at least a dozen off of the top of my head).
I'll also extend an invite to come view my MK4 roadster build if you are interested, they are different, but there are some similarities.
I'm in South County, so it's a bit of a haul, but there are also a couple guys closer to you, if you are interested.

Let us know, we'd also like to come out some time and check out your build!
