PIR Road coarse never more
It was announced this week that with the major renovations happening at Phoenix International Raceway, there are no plans to put a road coarse back in. Last weekend was the last time anyone will run the road coarse. Really bummed, it was my favorite track in AZ. That will lease us with 3 tracks at Firebird, AMP and Inde down in Wilcox.

That sucks, I was hoping to play there this year.

We still have Firebird and it's 3 tracks and AMP but there is a noise limit of 92db. If you are up for it the night event in April is a lot of fun.

Gordon,
I will never forget the first time I met you was at that track and with Dick Smith. Great memories and look at what happened since! Those ghosts will be there for a long time. Bondo wants a Coupe again (now that GM is no longer an exclusive sponsor of the school) and so we'll have to lean heavier on Firebird. Bummer though. Thanks for the report.

I really bummed about it. I don't know what the track owners are thinking. they just got rid of 40% of their yearly income. Hard to believe that it's been 15 years since you and Mark came out to meet Dick and myself.

Chuck, if I ever find a job I'll come play also. Shame though about PIR. That was on by bucket list.

Gordon what is the April event your talking about?

No, the night event is at Firebird main on April 2. We are actually running both Firebird main and west track and will have the drift guys out. It is always a great event. I will be running around racing in the TT group and instructing and doing hyperdrive. You can get more info at nasaaz.com.
