Question about wiring diagram for 03 WRX

I have an 03 WRX donor and starting on the wiring diet. I've found the service manuals and wiring diagrams online where there is an 2002 version and a 2004 version. I thought I read that the 02 and 03 are the same and the 02 manual should work for the 03, but my wiring seems to match the 2004 wiring diagram.

I've looked at a couple of connectors such as the test mode connectors (green ones) and my wire colors match the 04 manual vs the 02 manual; the wire colors also match the 04 manual for the data link connector vs the 02 manual; my flash memory connector (called line end check connector in the 04 manual) has 6 pins as in the 04 manual vs 3 pins in the 02 manual.

Which version is correct for an 03? The build date on my donor is 11/02 if that matters.

Hey Skip,

If we are referring to the engine specifically. you're better off with the 02 because the only difference will be with the extra gas tank sensor and the slightly different initialization connector. If you get into the SMJ part of things you'll see that the 02-03 uses one big plug whereas 04-05 splits it into 2 smaller plugs. But bigger picture is that overall 02-05 WRX are pretty much identical at the ends with just a minor changes in between.

As far as the entire body electrical system, absolutely use the 02.

OK. Thanks. I guess the first couple of things I picked to start looking at are the different ones. I'll use the 02 diagrams and if things don't look right, I'll try the 04.
